Sumanth Rajagopal Board Member

Sumanth Rajagopalan joined the Sankara Eye Foundation in 2000. Growing up Sumanth had an unrecognized inclination to aid the underprivileged, which found expression when he encountered the Sankara Eye Foundation, USA.

Sumanth’s commitment to SEF, USA’s mission manifested into dedicated action as he began volunteering alongside like-minded individuals. Whether it was in web development, creating SEF, USA’s first online donation platform, database design, or contributing to programs like the vehicle donation initiative, booths, events, and walkathons, he continuously worked towards creating awareness and raising funds for SEF, USA. This journey nurtured him into a more mindful person and eventually led him to join the Board, where he continues to champion the mission of eradicating curable blindness in India.

Following the completion of his Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Florida, Sumanth embarked on a career that has spanned nearly three decades in the hi-tech industry. Currently with IBM, he hopes to continue along this path, profoundly grateful to his family, friends, fellow volunteers, and colleagues for the love and invaluable opportunities that have shaped him.
